November 2020:\u00a0 The new sidewalk runs from Route 28 to Doe Lane.\u00a0 It could not\u00a0go further as one of the houses on Jones is grandfathered in and the county does not have right of way access for a sidewalk.<\/p>\n

Next we are considering requesting a sidewalk from Jones Lane to Quince Orchard \u2013 to add connectivity.<\/p>\n

July 2020:\u00a0 APPROVED: NPCA Application for Jones Lane Sidewalk<\/p>\n

We are excited to let you know that our application to put sidewalks along Jones Lane has been approved!\u00a0 The new sidewalks will be 5-ft wide and go along Jones Lane on the school side from Darnestown Road all the way to Doe Lane, connecting with a short segment of sidewalk already there.\u00a0 On the\u00a0opposite side,\u00a0a new segment will run from Lloydminster Drive to Falconbridge Drive to make sidewalks on both sides on Jones Lane there.<\/p>\n

MCDOT News Release for Montgomery County Maryland January 9, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Montgomery County Department of Transportation<\/a>\u00a0(MCDOT) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday<\/strong>, January 22<\/strong>, at 7 p.m.<\/strong> at\u00a0Jones Lane Elementary School<\/a>\u00a0to provide residents with an opportunity to present oral and\/or written comments concerning construction of a proposed sidewalk on\u00a0Jones Lane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The sidewalk is expected to enhance safety for those with disabilities, pedestrians and bicyclists as they travel to schools and nearby facilities. Public input helps determine whether or not to proceed with constructing all or a portion of the sidewalk.<\/p>\n

Project files are available for examination at MCDOT\u2019s\u00a0Division of Transportation Engineering<\/a>, located at 100 Edison Park Drive, 4th Floor, Gaithersburg. Schedule an appointment to review the files, obtain details and\/or information related to the hearing, reserve a time to testify at the hearing and\/or submit written comments by contacting:<\/p>\n

In May 2019 we learned that residents along Jones Lane were informed of the application and those impacted were invited to comment by June 21.\u00a0 The proposal suggested installing a sidewalk from Route 28 to Doe Lane (see attached maps).<\/p>\n
