Update on Johnson property annexation issue

NPCA received the following June 20 update on the Johnson property annexation issue from Steve Lawrence:

Subject:  Annexation Minor Update – Amended suit filed and recorded in Gaithersburg case

Aaron and 14 of us Co-Plaintiffs filed an Amendment to our case against the City of Gaithersburg for improperly trying to annex the Johnson property.  Yesterday, the Court officially registered our complaint (Case No. 429811V) and a hearing date will be scheduled approximately 30 days out.  Sorry if we missed many people last weekend but we had very limited time in talking and getting Co-Plaintiff’s to join the Amendment.  We were really focused on residents that border or live within 1,000 feet of the Johnson property since they have standing and are the most affected.

Many thanks to all the people contributing to relieving Aaron of some of the financial burden.  As mentioned, we have a Crowd Funding site which has had a total of 574 views and $2,350.00 overall donations to date.  This greatly helps in offsetting some of the $4,000 plus of expenses.  These monies paid for researchers and two vetting lawyers to ensure our case is professional and has merit.

Thank you all again and we will continue to keep you apprised of our efforts.
