History: Murder at Snyder’s Store

The Gaithersburg Town Courier recently ran an interesting story entitled Murder at Snyder’s Store about the historic building at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Quince Orchard Road on the northwestern edge of North Potomac.  The 67-year-old owner, Donald Snyder, was murdered on December 23, 1963, by a robber who made off with less than $100.  The old store was replaced by the Shell Gas Station and adjacent shopping centers in the 1970s.  Follow the link for the whole story.
